Sidelights

I noticed one of the sidelight clusters had a chunk taken out of the edge. It seemed structurally sound, but both seemed to be a bit green inside, so I decided to change them. It is easy enough to get them out, and the drivers side is fiddly to get back in. Luckily someone on … Read more

Wheels and tyres

Since my wheels with their Bridgestone Potenza S03 tyres were getting a bit worn, and I want to have plenty of tread for July’s trip to the Ring, I decided to get my spare set of Aero alloys refurbed, and given a new set of tyres. For refurb I chose Lap-Tab in Birmingham. They seemed … Read more

Elkparts goodies

Ordered some goodies from Elkparts today. New sidelights, a first aid kit, and Gliptone Leather Conditioner. The leather conditioner is really good. I use it every few months and it conditioners the leather nicely, makes it look good, smell nice and is all absorbed so leaves no marks on clothes.

Rust & tidying

When washing the car I noticed some small bumps at the top of the front driver’s side wing. The car was going to WMSS, so while there I asked about them. Turns out rust from inside is the culprit. So I went back to the same paint shop that did the work on my father … Read more

Service

Saab had a service today at WMSS Headed into the centre of Birmingham to meet a friend, it’s very easy, with regular buses from the main road close by WMSS. I imaging I will renew with them since their letter turned up yesterday and it looks ok. I will also phone around and … Read more

MOT

Saab was MOT’d today – nothing to report which is good 🙂

quiet

The Saab hasn’t been driven for over 2 weeks as I have been away – driving round the US and Canada in a PT Cruiser ;o) Nice car though the cruiser is, I thought it was a 1.8 engine fed through an automatic gearbox before I read the manual and found out it was a … Read more

France

Just returned from clocking up 1600 miles in France. Still a pleasure to drive there, even had my passenger take photos of the emptiness of the AutoRoute as we sped along at 130kph. Car seems to return about 32mpg crusing at that speed which isn’t bad. I won’t be doing a Saab trackday this year … Read more
